Good Friday

Christ in the Passover: A Seder

We are hosting a special meal and presentation on Good Friday at 5:30pm! This powerful dinner event, led by Avi Snyder of Jews for Jesus, will help us discover the link between the Jewish feast of Passover and the last supper Jesus shared with His disciples.

Join us for an exploration of the beautiful symbolism of the Jewish ceremonial meal called a Seder. We’ll weave the story of the exodus and freedom from slavery together with the messianic hope realized in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. The words “do this in remembrance of me” will take on an even deeper meaning to Christians as we learn the significance of and fully participate in the tradition Jesus observed the night before He died and give us a closer look at the very Jewish life He led. Jewish or not, religious or not—all are welcome for this unforgettable, thought-provoking experience. Dinner is provided.

UPDATE: Registration is closed for this event.

Harvest Sunday

Harvest Sunday

Rising Sun was originally a farming community. To maintain that heritage, we celebrate an annual ‘harvest’ offering and designate it to advancing God’s Kingdom! We get to be grateful for and faithful with what we’ve been given by offering it back to God!

We are celebrating Harvest Sunday with a potluck after service - so don’t forget to bring your favorite dish to share! Come back in the evening to watch our Kids' Choir perform Acorns to Oaks at 6pm. This energetic musical teaches children about being planted, rooted, and growing in Christ with the parable of the seed and the sower. When attending the musical, please bring a canned good that will be donated to Caring Hands.

Our Goal is to raise $125,000!

RESIDENCY - A collaborative partnership CEM (Christian Evangelistic Mission) to recruit, call, train, and send second career ministers.

NEW SIGN - Install a new outdoor sign that attracts the community and points people to Christ! Not to mention our current sign is quite dated.

MISSION TRIPS - Investing in Rising Sun family members who are called to advance God’s Kingdom overseas and partnering with them financially, relationally, and spiritually.

TOMORROW - The ability to say ‘yes’ to ministry opportunities as they present themselves and not be held back by finances.

Estate Planning: Wills & Trusts

We can’t predict the future, but we can plan for it.
Financial Planning Ministry takes the mystery out of estate planning, guiding you and your family through a straightforward process allowing you to design a legacy plan that protects and blesses your family while honoring God.

Philip Marley (Central Christian College of the Bible) is coming to share all about setting up wills and trusts for your family during lunch on October 13 & 14 (Friday and Saturday) at noon. After attending the seminar, you will have the opportunity to schedule a follow-up appointment - then to request that FPM prepare or update your own estate plan at no out-of-pocket cost. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity!

These events are free to attend and lunch is provided. On Saturday, childcare will be available. Sign up at the information counter in the foyer so we can plan food accordingly.

For more information, contact Gary Cox (Growing in Grace Minister) or visit fpm.org.
