Common Questions

Common Questions

We’re so glad you are checking out our website and we hope you’ll visit Rising Sun very soon!  If you are visiting for the first time, here are things you might want to know:

Service Times:  Our Worship Service is at 9:00 a.m.  We primarily sing contemporary worship music, but we like to occasionally sing the hymns that are so much a part of the heritage of today’s Church.   After worship service, we have classes for adults and children.  Our coffeehouse, Hebrews is open before the service at 8:30 – closed during service – and open again until 10:45 a.m.

Parking:  There are two parking lots, one on the south and one on the west side of the building.  Both parking lots lead directly into one of our entrances, and you’ll be greeted by folks who can help you find the worship center or classrooms.  If the weather is inclement or if you have special needs, there is a covered entrance on the west side of the worship center.

Children:   We have staffed childcare for Infants – 5 year olds available during both hours.  Children K-5 attend worship with their parents and are dismissed for Kid’s Worship by a dismissal slide on the screens in the worship center.  Children are also welcome to attend the entire service with their parents.  Children are dismissed from Kid’s Worship to their Sunday School classes.  New children should be picked up in the Kid’s Worship room by their parents if they are not familiar with the building.

What do I wear:  Most of our members dress in casual attire, such as jeans, but you'll also see dresses, suit coats and ties.

Assistive Listening Devices:  Assistive listening devices are available in the back of the worship center – one of our ushers would be happy to assist you in getting one.

Communion:  Communion is available at each of our worship services in remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.  All Christians are invited to participate as it is passed.

What does RSCC believe?

We believe we aren't the only Christians, but want to be Christians only.  We believe in one God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son who was both fully human and fully divine; who suffered and was crucified; buried and who rose again on the third day.  That Jesus was ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father!
We believe in the Holy Spirit who is active and indwells every Christian.  We believe in the Bible – God’s Holy Word – that it is God-inspired and the final authority for all matters of faith and life.  We believe that man willfully sinned against God and without Jesus Christ, lives without hope.  But we also believe  the Bible teaches that one who receives God’s grace & gift of salvation by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Jesus as Lord, and being immersed into Him has that hope and will spend eternity in Heaven.

If you have questions, we are here to help you better understand what God has for your life.   It can be an amazing journey!  For more details and Scriptural references for the belief statement above, please Click Here.
