The primary purpose of Children's Ministry at Rising Sun is to provide opportunities for children to learn in age-appropriate programs which will guide the development of faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The development of faith is a life-long process that begins when children are infants.
Nursery
A quality program is provided for infants. We have a staff of caring, loving adults who will show your infant God's love.
Preschool Praise
A session for 2 through 5 years old children held during the adult worship services. We want to be more intentional in teaching preschool children to praise God for who He is, in their own unique way.
Kingdom Kids
A session that is held during the adult worship services and teaches elementary children to worship God for who He is. We want Kindergarten through fourth graders to understand what worship is and the elements of worship in a way they can comprehend. Children participate in worship through music, scripture, prayer, offering, communion and Bible lessons.
5th graders can attend if they choose to be helpers. It is a good way for them to experience mentoring the younger children. If you choose to help, just show up on Sunday morning to work. If you don’t want to help, you can continue worshipping with your parents.
Sunday School
Classes are held at 9:30 a.m. for children of all ages. Each classroom is staffed by groups of caring and dedicated staff. Through age-appropriate Bible School curriculum, children receive an overview of the Old and the New Testament with issues for application to their daily lives. Kids' Club A club that meets on Wednesday evenings for children 3 years old up through fifth grade. Each week brings a variety of activities and events. We study the Bible, apply the Bible to the children's lives, make crafts, sing and have a whole lot of fun.
Joining God's Family
A four-week class that is held at various times throughout the year for elementary children who are interested in learning about becoming a Christian. Joining God's Family discusses topics such as sin, the penalty for sin, God's free gift, repentance, confession and baptism. Vacation Bible School is held for children 3 yrs. old through 8th grade for one week each summer. Central Iowa Bible
